The largest wind turbine in the world was put into
service on 02.02.2005, started by Federal Minister of the
Environment Jürgen Trittin, and Richter Maschinenfabrik
AG is involved in this technological masterpiece having
made the two load-bearing welded steel structures for the
nacelle.
Production of the high-precision prototypes of the
machine and generator support was a truly extraordinary challenge
for technical expertise and mechanical engineering not experienced
every day and required the readiness to draw up new and innovative
solutions. After all, the modules had dimensions 16705x5891x2291
mm bolted together and a total weight of almost 90
t.
Top welding quality, 1a material, extremely carefully applied
anti-corrosion protection and machining with precision to the
nearest hundredth, i.e. the best possible of everything was the
standard the Richter team had set itself. After all, everyone knew
that with the Richter components the whole nacelle on the approx.
120 m high steel tower would have a weight of approx.
410 t including rotor. The frames themselves therefore had
to support a load of 320 t.
Working in close collaboration with the competent and highly
motivated specialists of our customer, REpower Systems AG, a
perfect team performance once again enabled this absolute
production highlight.
You can depend on strong partners!
